Understanding Multiple Myeloma. Presented By: Bristol Myers Squibb

In the U.S., African Americans are about 14% of the country's population, but they constitute about 20% of all myeloma patients. And that incidence is actually growing. In the next 10 years, it is expected that one of four myeloma patients will be of African descent. Join us March 25, 2023 at 9:00 AM as Bristol Myers Squibb and The International Meyeloma Foundation share valuable information.

Our Mission

“To create and to implement creative, sustainable and transformative economic, community and housing development programs for the greater Watts community.”

OUR HISTORY: The MDCD was founded in 2015 by Rev. Dr. Shane B. Scott, lead pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Watts. Dr. Scott is the chairman Macedonia CDC with the vision of transforming Watts and greater South Los Angeles into vibrant, healthy communities of productive citizens. Through tailored programming and partnerships with public and private entities, Macedonia CDC inspires, supports and empowers the people of Watts.

Access to Capital: Through the $800,000.00 Watts Microloan Fund, powered by Macedonia CDC, eligable entrepeneurs may apply to borrow between $500.00 - $5,000.00 to grow their company.

Join us in a series of educational events regarding multi myeloma, leukemia, and lymphoma awareness and engagement in underserved areas of Watts and the surrounding South Los Angeles community.

Food insecurity is defined as "limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods or limited or uncertain ability to acquire acceptable foods in socially acceptable ways." Contact us to join the hundreds of community members we help bridge the gap each week with our food giveaways.
